Ready for a Spooktacular Night Under the Trees? Join UWF’s Outdoor Adventures (OA) for one of our fang-favorite annual traditions: the Halloween Night Hike on the Edward Ball Nature Trail! Whether you’re looking for chills, laughs, or just a fun night out in nature, this hike is the perfect way to get into the Halloween spirit.

This year’s haunted hike sneaks up on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, from 7:30 PM to 10:00 PM—and the best part? It’s completely FREE and open to everyone! Glow sticks and candy will be provided. *We recommend this event for teens and older. All minors must be accompanied by an adult.

Location: Edward Ball Nature Trail (linked in maps) behind Crosby Hall (Building 10) with parking available in Lots G and F

Feeling festive? Come a little early and join our Halloween Costume Contest from 7:00–7:30 PM for a chance to win an OA t-shirt!

Pre-registration is encouraged, but not required. All participants will need to sign a waiver before hitting the trail.

Want to help bring the fright? If you’re dying to be a spooky volunteer and give a few jump scares, email us at outdooradventure@uwf.edu—we’d love to have you creep it real with us!

For everyone’s safety and enjoyment, please review the following guidelines before attending the hike. Absolutely no touching of actors or props—zero tolerance. Any physical assault on our actors or staff will result in immediate removal from the event and police involvement. The following are strictly prohibited: touching, weapons, drugs or alcohol, smoking, lighters, running, photography, and flashlights. To help maintain a calm and safe environment, please do not bring pets—even the bravest of furry friends can get startled. Closed-toe shoes are highly recommended for your comfort and safety along the trail. Please be aware that the hike may include strobe lights, fog machines, loud music, and sudden sounds or scares. We also ask that you silence and put away your cell phones during the hike—don’t be that person.
