UWF proudly offers a first-year living-learning community for on-campus residents. This high-impact program enhances the college experience and first-year success by building a community of peers and connecting students with campus programs and resources. Students living in the community live in Martin Hall together, attend events and community service experiences together, and take the Foundations for Academic Success Seminar (SLS 1109) together.

The UWF Community Garden is an active service project of the Kugelman Honors Program. It is open to the public and we welcome anyone who shares our passion for digging in the dirt and growing things. The garden helps to develop, cultivate, assess, and sustain a network of mutually beneficial community partnerships by cultivating a large and growing network of community partners who are committed to food sustainability, nutrition, and student development.

The Office of Undergraduate Research (OUR) facilitates and supports undergraduate student engagement in research and scholarly activities. This activity involves faculty and student collaboration in original research that should result in some tangible product (i.e. publication, presentation, performance, or exhibition), but its most valuable contribution is the development of our students in ways not possible in traditional classroom settings.

Undergraduate research can look vastly different between disciplines, but the underlying principle is the same: exploration and discovery. Whether your research leads you out on a boat to collect water samples or is required before creating a beautiful work of art, the value of undergraduate research is priceless. Students who have participated in undergraduate research benefit in many ways, including:

The UWF Singers was founded in 1967 at the newly established University of West Florida. With frequent collaborative performances with the Pensacola Symphony Orchestra, the Pensacola Choral Society, and the Pensacola Children's Chorus, the UWF Singers have continued to be an example of choral excellence in the Northwest Florida region.

Founded in 1987, by Martha Lee Blodgett, the ambassadors are appointed by UWF President Martha D. Saunders to serve as the official hosts and hostesses of the University of West Florida. Famous for their green jackets, the ambassadors are called upon to assist at important university events such as fall and spring commencement, donor dinners, alumni and VIP tours, presidential events, and award ceremonies.
