The UWF Community Garden is an active service project of the Kugelman Honors Program. It is open to the public and we welcome anyone who shares our passion for digging in the dirt and growing things. The garden helps to develop, cultivate, assess, and sustain a network of mutually beneficial community partnerships by cultivating a large and growing network of community partners who are committed to food sustainability, nutrition, and student development.

The Reubin O'D. Askew Department of Government at UWF offers Bachelor of Arts degrees in Political Science, Political Science Pre-Law, and International Studies. The department offers Masters of Arts degrees in Political Science and International Affairs. Students may also minor in International Studies, Political Science, Political Science Pre-Law, and Spanish.

The World Languages Programs, housed in the Department of Government, offers an undergraduate certificate in French, Japanese, and Spanish, in addition to the Spanish minor, as well as studies in various languages.

The Office of Undergraduate Research (OUR) facilitates and supports undergraduate student engagement in research and scholarly activities. This activity involves faculty and student collaboration in original research that should result in some tangible product (i.e. publication, presentation, performance, or exhibition), but its most valuable contribution is the development of our students in ways not possible in traditional classroom settings.

The UWF Singers was founded in 1967 at the newly established University of West Florida. With frequent collaborative performances with the Pensacola Symphony Orchestra, the Pensacola Choral Society, and the Pensacola Children's Chorus, the UWF Singers have continued to be an example of choral excellence in the Northwest Florida region.

Founded in 1987, by Martha Lee Blodgett, the ambassadors are appointed by UWF President Martha D. Saunders to serve as the official hosts and hostesses of the University of West Florida. Famous for their green jackets, the ambassadors are called upon to assist at important university events such as fall and spring commencement, donor dinners, alumni and VIP tours, presidential events, and award ceremonies.

The Archaeology Institute is one of several complementary units that focus on anthropology and
archaeology at the University of West Florida. The Institute also oversees the operations and
activities of the Marine Services Center (MSC), which is a unit under Academic Affairs. This
document pertains to the Archaeology Institute.

The Archaeology Institute is dedicated to the support of academic programs at the University of
West Florida through the investigation, preservation, and enhancement of archaeological
resources, and through public outreach, education, and training opportunities for students and the
public. The important values of archaeological resources are communicated by involving
undergraduate and graduate students and the public in archaeological research. Formal classes,
workshops, public lectures, exhibits, publications, and other high-impact practices are conducted
and produced by Institute staff and Department faculty alongside students in Anthropology. The
Institute further makes equipment and workspaces available to faculty, staff, and students
engaged in instruction, research, and service at UWF.
The Institute plays an integral part in the training, education, and professionalization of students
at UWF. Through direct, hands-on and high-impact practices like conducting archaeological
research and fieldwork for clients, developing research designs and implementing them,
supporting Masters thesis research, and contributing to original research and reporting of
archaeological investigations, students can, under the tutelage of Institute professionals, gain
marketable skills necessary for a wide variety of cultural resource management and preservation,
museum and research institutes, higher education, and private contractual careers. The
Archaeology Institute further supports faculty in the Department of Anthropology (and others)
through materials and supplies (including maritime services like boats and dive lockers), labor,
and laboratory space needed to complete research.

The University of West Florida cheer program is a student organization. The primary focus of the cheer program will be on academics prior to cheering to find a balance between becoming an excellent student as well as a cheerleader. The West Florida cheerleaders support the athletic teams by generating crowd excitement and school spirit. Squad members hold great responsibility in the fact that each member is an ambassador to the University and represents the athletic department, school, city and state. The squad cheers at most West Florida athletic events including men's and women's basketball, volleyball, and football. West Florida cheerleaders are also present at many campus and community events. These events include pep rallies, parades, student government events and many more.
