Active Minds is a student mental health advocacy and awareness organization that provides resources and implements numerous efforts in advancing various mental health awareness's, including suicide prevention, depression, anxiety, etc.

Members can list their involvement within Active Minds on their resume as advocacy, mental health, or event/marketing experience. Psychology majors in particular can gain better understanding of various mental health acknowledgements outside the classroom and build off of that from personal interactions with fellow members. All members regardless of their major, however, will create many new friendships through Active Minds, and furthermore be surrounded by like-minded individuals who will provide an abundancy of support and togetherness.

Activity & Service Fee is a per-credit fee that all students pay. These fees are awarded through three processes whose corresponding forms can be found in this organization: Annual Budget, Travel Grants, and Project Grants. Annual Budgets are awarded to Registered Student Organizations (RSOs), Sports Club Council, Departments, and other similar entitites on a yearly basis during the spring budget process. Travel Grants are given to undergraduate and graduate students who are travelling to advance their educational experience in their area of study or interest. Project Grants are given to active RSOs and departments NOT FUNDED through the yearly budget process and are to be used for one-time activities that promote the mission of the organization and/or enhance University-wide programm

The African American Student Association's primary objectives are to promote humanism within the University community and improve the educational, social, and political environment among African American students. Establish and maintain a line of communication among African American students, other student organizations, student government, and the administration of the University of West Florida. AASA strives to develop programs (educational, social, and entertaining) that are beneficial to the development of a wider perspective of diversity, culture, acceptance, and engagement in the UWF community. As an organization , we plan to stress the need for unity among African American students and accent the various forms of African American community. Alpha Chi Omega at UWF is a sisterhood of motivated, energetic women who are leaders on campus and in the classroom. Since 2006, the Kappa Xi chapter of AXO has been serving the Pensacola community by raising money for domestic violence prevention. UWF Alpha Chis are also known as passionate advocates for survivors of sexual violence. Outside of philanthropy, sisters get excited about intramural sports, tailgates, campus organizations like the UWF Ambassadors, and any opportunity to hang out together, whether it's a study date or a beach day.

The purpose of this group is to allow students to collaborate on AI research projects and participate in data science competitions to help prepare them for careers in AI research and data science. We meet on a weekly basis to discuss research projects we're working on and prepare for competitions we're planning on participating in.

Group members are free to participate in whichever activities spark their interest, and are encouraged to bring in their own research projects and competitions they're interested in. Deep learning in particular is what the group usually focuses on, but our projects are by no means limited to that. We encourage our members to explore their own interests and collaborate with other like-minded students in the group. The group is member-oriented and its primary purpose is to facilitate the collaboration and exchange of knowledge between group members of all interests and experience levels.

Founded in 2015, the Cyber Security Club is a special interest organization that mainly focuses on the growth of member's knowledge in cybersecurity. We keep an open door style membership by having no requirements to join other than to be an eager learner!

Below you will find our schedule for the upcoming semester. Also we will be having our meeting on campus again this semester so looking forward to seeing everyone! In the fall we focus more on offensive cyber security as we compete in the Global Collegiate Penetration Testing competition, and in the spring we flip to defense as we compete in the National Collegiate Cyber Defense Competition.

Cyberdo Ju-Jitsu is derived from the traditional Bushikan Jujutsu, which was originally conceived by Samurai to utilize in combat when unarmed and facing armed and armored opponents. Cyberdo Ju-Jitsu employs techniques from various martial arts in order to make students well-rounded and capable martial artists. Not only will participants be able to exercise and work on their strength and conditioning, but students will also develop practical skills to keep them safe as well as self-discipline necessary for any form of physical training. Cyberdo Ju-Jitsu is an all-encompassing style that teaches students to use strikes, throws, takedowns, joint locks and submissions for self-defense and competitive reasons. Cyberdo Ju-Jitsu employs striking techniques found in Boxing, Karate, Kickboxing, Kung Fu, Taekwondo, and Hapkido. Cyberdo Ju-Jitsu also trains students to utilize traditional Judo and Aikido throws, Wrestling takedowns and takedown defenses, and joint locks, submissions and ground work utilized in Judo, Wrestling, and both JJJ and BJJ. Eta Kappa Nu Association was founded in 1904 by Maurice L. Carr. Carr was an electrical engineering student at the University of Illinois. He shared his vision about an electrical engineering honor society with nine (9) other students who together founded Eta Kappa Nu Association on 28 October 1904. The original perspective regarding qualifications for membership was that scholarship was essential, but that the selection of students with the character and attitude that would make them probable leaders of the profession was even more important. MERS is highly malleable by the undergraduate members, and we actively encourage their participation in making MERS even better. As of Fall of 2020, MERS has been dedicated to restoring and caring for the club's tank in Building 58. Thanks to the hard work of tank managers, MERS officers, and volunteers, this tank is now home to many types of coral, invertebrates, and fish. The care of these organisms will remain one of the key objectives of our organization, and we hope to provide many educational experiences for both students and visitors through the MERS tank!"

We are a competitive trial team who competes against different Universities in a "mock" trial setting using a hypothetical court case released by the American Mock Trial Association (AMTA). Each year the case is switched between a civil case and a criminal case and every University receives the same materials to compete against each other with. The purpose of the Student Nurses Association is to bring together and mentor students preparing for a BSN degree, foster the professional development of nursing students, and convey the standards of ethics of the nursing profession. Our chapter at UWF participates in various community and fundraising events in our area. Some community events include walks or providing free blood pressure checks. Fundraising events are usually held at local restaurants and we have previously done fundraisers at Panera Bread, Pieology, and Zaxby's. SNA will receive a portion of the money made during our specified fundraising time depending on how many members participate. We always have tons of fun, both at community and fundraising events because it gives us the chance to network and be involved outside of campus. We also strive to attend conferences and participate in nursing legislation. Each year, usually spring semester, UWF SNA attends advocacy days in Tallahassee. This gives us the ability to meet and network with legislators on issues we believe should be known, while also being able to review pending legislations.

The Supply Chain Logistics Association (SCLA) is a professional organization designed to give our members interaction with industry professionals. Our motto in SCLA is "Link with Industry, Launch Your Career" and that is exactly what we strive to do for our members every semester with the help of our Faculty adviser Dr. Keller and other logistics professors Dr. LeMay and Dr. Brazhkin. Each semester our members tour facilities that require logistics and supply chain management everyday including Hyundai manufacturing plant, Family Dollar Distribution Center, both the Ports in Mobile and Pensacola, Lewis Bear Company distribution center, and others. We help our members build their resumes and connect them with recruiters from companies around the United States. For those who are still in search of what you want to do after you graduate or even just looking at all the job opportunities that will open up in the next few years of your lives, you are encouraged to join and attend our meetings. This is your opportunity to learn and be a part of how all the products in your life start in a manufacturing process and arrive to the consumer. You might wonder what are some of the other benefits of attending meetings and joining the SCLA, well here are a few: 1. Nearly 100% placement for the SCLM program's graduates wanting to enter the field of supply chain management and logistics. We graduate about 20 students per year and are growing. 2. We have about 100 students in the current certificate and degree programs with significant growth. 3. Industry reports show that about half of the U.S. companies plan to hire supply chain people within the year. Other reports show that there are many more job opportunities in supply chain logistics than there are graduates - statistics indicate a 6 to 1 ratio of jobs to graduates. 4. We have some major industry partners that annually have been hiring many of our students, including Crane Worldwide Logistics, AAA Cooper Transportation, Avalex Technologies, Ascend Performance Materials, C.H. Robinson, J.B. Hunt Transport, and R+L Carriers. 5. Our logistics courses at UWF are some of the highest enrolled classes within the College of Business. That means that students are very interested in the classes and in the field as a career opportunity. 6. Our student teams have placed 1st through 4th in national-level logistics competitions in 8 of the past 10 years. We only began our program 10 years ago. In fact, in the Operation Stimulus Case Competition hosted by the Denver Transportation Club, we compete against some of the top Supply Chain Logistics programs across North America. The Archaeology Institute is one of several complementary units that focus on anthropology and
archaeology at the University of West Florida. The Institute also oversees the operations and
activities of the Marine Services Center (MSC), which is a unit under Academic Affairs. This
document pertains to the Archaeology Institute.

The Archaeology Institute is dedicated to the support of academic programs at the University of
West Florida through the investigation, preservation, and enhancement of archaeological
resources, and through public outreach, education, and training opportunities for students and the
public. The important values of archaeological resources are communicated by involving
undergraduate and graduate students and the public in archaeological research. Formal classes,
workshops, public lectures, exhibits, publications, and other high-impact practices are conducted
and produced by Institute staff and Department faculty alongside students in Anthropology. The
Institute further makes equipment and workspaces available to faculty, staff, and students
engaged in instruction, research, and service at UWF.
The Institute plays an integral part in the training, education, and professionalization of students
at UWF. Through direct, hands-on and high-impact practices like conducting archaeological
research and fieldwork for clients, developing research designs and implementing them,
supporting Masters thesis research, and contributing to original research and reporting of
archaeological investigations, students can, under the tutelage of Institute professionals, gain
marketable skills necessary for a wide variety of cultural resource management and preservation,
museum and research institutes, higher education, and private contractual careers. The
Archaeology Institute further supports faculty in the Department of Anthropology (and others)
through materials and supplies (including maritime services like boats and dive lockers), labor,
and laboratory space needed to complete research.

Those who need feedback for a comic idea before they start. Those who need a kick in the butt to start their comic by being with other comic student artists who also need a kick in the butt. Those who want to meet others who love/like comics! The UWF Comic Club members has a mission: help awesome people make awesome comics, whether that be long discussions over-analyzing someone's comic idea, inviting in speakers, or having "productivity days" dedicated to sole comic making to get ready to debut for the yearly printed "UWF Comic Making Club Anthology", which is a printed book full of the hard working comic makers' comics they were able to make for the year. Are you good enough to debut into the book? Come to the club meetings and set up a goal for yourself and COMPLETE THE GOAL with feedback/encouragement from fellow comic peers. The University of West Florida cheer program is a student organization. The primary focus of the cheer program will be on academics prior to cheering to find a balance between becoming an excellent student as well as a cheerleader. The West Florida cheerleaders support the athletic teams by generating crowd excitement and school spirit. Squad members hold great responsibility in the fact that each member is an ambassador to the University and represents the athletic department, school, city and state. The squad cheers at most West Florida athletic events including men's and women's basketball, volleyball, and football. West Florida cheerleaders are also present at many campus and community events. These events include pep rallies, parades, student government events and many more.

The UWF Fencing Club (Salle McAfee) is an award-winning organization dedicated to the rediscovery and reconstruction of historical European martial arts (HEMA). It is one of the premiere organizations for historical swordsmanship in the Southeast, with a particular focus on the rapier. The club also features other forms of swordsmanship, such as arming sword, longsword, sabre, and various sidearms for these weapons. The club also features modern sport fencing, including foil, epee, and sabre. The fencing club competes in various Southeastern tournaments. It is open to all UWF students with no try-outs required and maintains an open-door policy with many practices structured for casual members in addition to its competitive program.
